Swallows flying

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;
--Sara Teasdale

The swallows (namesakes for our summer adventure) were late in arriving at Carraig Dúlra this year, but they've been very busy looking for nesting sites all around the farm in the past few weeks. They even took a bit of interest in our partially completed barn. After the week of lovely weather, the barn team, lead by Rob, had a rather wet day free to work on the roof today, but persevered to get about half of it clad.

The weather really helped the garden take off and the rain there is most welcome. We have had a great team of volunteers this season. The greenhouse and gardens are looking great, as are a number of new structures. We are training in the new summer team, who will be looking after everything when we are off to Mongolia. This includes new volunteers for the OOOOBY box project, which, after a bit of a wait due to the late season, should be ready to get going again for this season very shortly. Please get in touch if you are in our area and interested in a box.

We have some final fundraisers to tell you about before we're off.

Thanks so much to all who have already contributed- We have bought the van that will be donated to GoHelp on arrival they will make good use of it or sell it on and all funds will go to projects like their Book Gher reading project for shanty town children. We still have a ways to go for the charity fundraising as we hope to fill the van with things from Gohelps wish list see here for items we can fit

So please consider an on-line donation or come along as we have some great up-coming events. Sorry if you have already recieved a mailing on these, we are in the process of moving our newletter over to the mailchimp system in preparation for a bit of website redevelopment and a Carraig Dúlra relaunch next year when we finish all the new structures.
